
Gary Burger has been assisting retirees for more than three decades. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and fiduciary, Gary’s goals for retirees are to help them protect their assets, increase their income and net worth, and reduce or eliminate taxes on their Social Security income.
Gary attended the University of South Carolina on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in business management. He is a Registered Investment Adviser with Fidelity and Charles Schwab and is a well-known financial professional in the Gwinnett County area, where many people have attended his seminars. Gary holds a life insurance license in Georgia, in addition to having passed his Series 65 securities exam. Over the years, he has advised respected retirees from top local and national businesses, including General Motors, Verizon Wireless, Georgia Power, SKF and Mars Corporation, as well as retirees in the metro Atlanta school districts.
Gary lives with his wife, Joan, in Sugar Hill, Gwinnett County, Georgia. Joan is a retired Gwinnett County teacher. They have two grown children, Emilie and Gary Jr. Emilie graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies. She is the associate head golf coach at Vanderbilt University. Gary Jr. graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in financial planning and computer science. He works in information technology.
In his free time, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. He is a strong supporter of high school and college athletics.
